John Vivian is an independent appraiser of gems and jewelry serving the Western Washington area. He has been active in the jewelry industry since 1978, opening Washington Gemological Laboratory in 1997.

Amoung his other designations, John holds a Graduate Gemologist certification from the Gemological Institute of America and is a Certified Master Appraiser with the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

To stay current with all of the changes occurring in gemstone enhancement and identification, John participates in several seminars a year.
